Conversion of a neglected shopping mall into a lively school complex.

Serves 2,000 students, K-6, 9-12, on 10 acres

Completed in 2001.

Helped spur:

·         transit center

·         performing arts center

·         new housing

·         commercial rehab

·         decrease in crime  

 Tenderloin Community School - San Francisco 

Elementary school, child development center, medical/dental facilities, community garden and kitchen in a neighborhood populated largely by Southeast Asian and Russian immigrants.

Serves 325 students, preK-5 grades, on 0.73 acres

Completed in 1998

Mendez Fundamental Intermediate School - Santa Ana

School partially built on top of a parking garage behind a shopping mall. 

Completed in 1999

Serves 1240 students, 5-8 grades, on 12 acres
