Infrastructure Dialogues Show Challenges for Citizens/Leaders;
Findings taken to Sacramento the following day
The citizens and leaders of Orange County must set aside widespread mistrust of public governance to salvage core quality-of-life values and welcome 500,000 people – most of them born to current residents -- in the next 20 years, area leaders were told at Orange County Dialogue Leadership Forum held on March 18.

Population growth will be driven by births from current residents, participants learned at the event, sponsored by the Orange County Business Council, the Center for a New Orange County, and the California Policy Forum.

Some 128 participants from the business, government and community-organization sectors were present at the event, which was followed by media coverage in the Orange County Register and the Los Angeles Times newspapers.

That’s only one of several disconnects uncovered by an 800-person survey conducted recently by CSU-Fullerton researchers and the Orange County Business Council.
